Enabling Reduced Communication Frequency

Important: Reduced communication frequency (G8 only) cannot be enabled at the same time as the Check-in feature since Blackline Safety's automated check-in requires consistent network connectivity. To enable Reduced communication frequency (G8 only), you must first disable Check-in.
G8 devices operate in continuous connectivity settings by default. To enable reduced communication frequency settings:
  1. Log in to Blackline Live.
  2. Go to Menu > Configurations.
  3. Select the G8 device configuration profile.
  4. Select Edit in the Modes card.
  5. Expand the Functional settings section drop-down.
  6. Disable Check-in, if enabled.
  7. Enable Reduced communication frequency (G8 only).Reduced communication frequency settings in Blackline Live.
  8. Set the communication interval.
Note: You can enter a value between 1 and 24 hours in 1-hour increments.
  9. Select Save.
Configured G8 devices now operate with the specified reduced communication frequency settings.
